Speaking with Confidence: Grade IX Students of MTsN 7 Bantul Take English Practice Exam

Bantul (MTsN 7 Bantul) – English Practice Examinations for Grade IX students were held from February 9 to February 13, 2026. This examination was part of the final assessment for the English subject and focused on speaking skill by conducting interviews about personal information. All Grade IX students participated in the examination, which was carried out according to the established schedule.

The main objective of the practice examination was to evaluate students’ English communication skills, particularly their speaking proficiency. Through interview-based activities, students were required to demonstrate their ability to understand questions, provide relevant personal information, and respond clearly and confidently.

The English teacher, Armi Setyasih, explained that the examination emphasized students’ communicative competence rather than solely their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. She highlighted that the assessment focused on how effectively students could comprehend questions and respond appropriately in spoken interactions.

One of the students, Zafina from class IX D, shared her impressions after taking part in the examination. She expressed her enthusiasm for being able to communicate in English using the theme of personal information. According to her, the practice examination helped students build confidence and become more accustomed to using English in real-life communication contexts.(AS)
